CANYON LAKE, Texas -- Aeromedical students set off rescue flares as part of their medical Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) training. While here the students spend five days in the field where they learn basic survival techniques such as land navigation, shelter building, aircraft signaling and foraging for food.
