Major crater

OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM -- American servicemembers examine a crater in the taxiway at Baghdad International Airport on April 18. Among the crowd were two leaders in Operation Iraqi Freedom's Combined Forces Air Component Command: Maj. Gen. Walter Buchanan, deputy commander, and Maj. Gen. George N. Williams, director of mobility forces. Buchanan and Williams toured the airport and visited with servicemembers during their stay. The airport is a primary base of operations for U.S. troops, cargo and humanitarian airlift in Operation Iraqi Freedom. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Cherie A. Thurlby)
