Cementing Balad, Anaconda hospital in history
Tech. Sgt. Troy Parlin lifts a piece of concrete from the original Air Force Theater Hospital floor March 1 at Balad Air Base, Iraq, for transportation to the National Museum of Health and Science in Washington. The floor section, known as Bay II, is slated for exhibition because it is known by the medical community as the place where the most American blood was spilled since the Vietnam War. Sergeant Parlin is a 332nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron heavy repair operator and technician deployed from McGuire Air Force Base, N.J. (U.S. Air Force photo/Maj. Scott Bryant)
