A member of the Iraqi army walk to an Iraqi C-130 Hercules at New Al Muthana Air Base, Iraq, before a March 30 flight to Basra, Iraq. All processing, loading and transporting of Iraqi troops are being conducted by the Iraqi air force. Iraqi airmen flew more than 45 C-130E and rotary wing missions in support of air operations in Basra, Iraq. Since March 24, Iraqi Air Force airmen have airlifted food, water, medical supplies, and other goods into the region. They also transported more than 170 tons of cargo and approximately 800 Iraqi military personnel. Iraqi aircrews also flew more than 50 intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions.
