AF Academy volunteers renovate Navajo home
Maj. John Christ puts his civil engineering knowledge to work as he uses a pick-axe to dislodge frozen ground at a volunteer worksite March 26 in Navajo, N.M. The frozen soil would be replaced by cinderblocks and concrete, to become the foundation of a home for a Navajo family. Major Christ is an instructor at the Air Force Academy's Department of Civil Engineering. He and a group of 20 cadets, faculty and family members volunteered to work at the reservation during the Academy's spring break. (U.S. Air Force photo/John Van Winkle)
