USAFCENT visits Bagram Airmen Christmas Eve
Lt. Gen. Gary North, U.S. Air Forces Central commander, watches over a wounded Airman at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. General North personally presented the Airman with his Purple Heart medal, as well a special quilt made with love by "little old ladies" in South Carolina. The eager staff at the military hospital can treat his wounds, but the quilt serves to heal his mind and spirit -- a constant reminder that there are people who care, even if they have never met.
