Fuel quality
Staff Sgt. Ronald Gasper pours fuel through a filter membrane into a beaker as part of a bottle method test Dec. 8 at an air base in Southwest Asia. The filter membrane is weighed before and after a bottle method test; the differences in weight will show the amount of impurities in the fuel. The weekly bottle method test is used to test the fuel truck's filter separator and how well it is screening impurities from the fuel. Sergeant Gasper is a fuels lab technician assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron and deployed from Scott Air Force Base, Ill. He is a native of Omaha, Neb.
