Summit solidifies operational, strategic doctrine
More than a dozen active duty and retired general officers attended the Gathering of Air Component Coordination Elements Doctrine Summit Jan. 23 and 24 at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. They refined Air Force and joint doctrine relating to a key advisory and liasion position in joint warfighting operations. Air Force generals who have held this position in humanitarian and combat operations ranging from Hurricane Katrina relief to Operation Iraqi Freedom shared their experiences in an attempt to clarify duty roles and responsibilities, training requirements and other areas pertaining to the position that was created in 2001 during Operation Enduring Freedom.
