Air support unites Airmen, Soldiers in Afghanistan

Capt. Dylan Thorpe talks about the 30mm cannon on the A-10 Thunderbolt II with Pennsylvania Army National Guard Soldiers during an Oct. 28 visit to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. Members from the 391st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron and the 75th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron hosted the Soldiers who wanted to thank the pilots who protect ground forces with close-air support while engaged in firefights with enemy forces. The A-10's 30mm weapon is a vital asset to Solders on frontlines who need close-air support. Captain Thorpe is an A-10 pilot. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Keith Brown)
