Happy birthday, U.S. Marine Corps
Gen. James T. Conway, commandant of the Marine Corps, uses a traditional saber to cut the Marine Corps birthday cake. The Corps celebrates its 233rd birthday with a celebration Nov. 7 in the newly-opened Marine Corps Corridor in the Pentagon. Guests included more than 100 Marines, Sailors, civilians and other members of the joint staff as well as and Secretary of the Navy Donald C. Winter. The Marine Corps was founded on Nov. 10, 1775.
