Brake it down
Tech. Sgt. Chris Reiter and Airman 1st Class James Giesick lift a new brake unit onto a KC-135 Stratotanker landing gear axle as Airman 1st Class Ryan McMillen assists Sept. 28 at an air base in Southwest Asia. The brake set had to be replaced when a crack in the heat shield was detected during a post-flight inspection. Sergeant Reiter, a native of Farmington, N.M., is deployed from Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. Airman McMillen is from Warsaw, Ill., and deployed from McConnell AFB, Kan.
