Gentlemen, start your engines!
Senior Airman Sean Weygandt screws in a panel on an F-16 Fighting Falcon before running up the engine July 16 at Joint Base Balad, Iraq. The run up of the engine back and forth from full afterburner to idle allows the engine mechanics and crew chiefs to ensure all systems are fully functional before putting the fighter back into operational use. Airman Weygandt is a 77th Aircraft Maintenance Unit engine mechanic deployed from Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Julianne Showalter)
