Army Lt. Col. Jeffery Grimes speaks about his uncle, Air Force retired Maj. Clarence Grimes Oct. 25, 2013, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., before his uncle is awarded the French Legion of Honor Medal. The medal is the highest recognition by the French government and was awarded for contributions almost 70 years ago to defend and preserve the independence of France.
