New equipment could save AMC millions

A Humvee is secured with the existing tie downs and new synthetic tie downs to conduct a side-by-side demonstration during an operational evaluation on Joint Base Charleston, S.C., Nov. 28, 2016. The new tie downs and winch cables will reduce weight by nearly 1,000 pounds on each C-17 Globemaster III, and save the Air Force approximately $4 million annually. (Courtesy photo)
