Why I serve: The Kalkbrenner story
Brothers Marco (left) and Staff Sgt. Ivan Kalkbrenner continued their family's legacy of service following guidance and mentorship from their father, Navy Chief Warrant Officer 4 Anthony Kalkbrenner (pictured center), who served 30 years in the Navy. Marco, currently a member of the Goldsboro, N.C. Police Department, retired as a master sergeant following 20 years as a security forces member, and Ivan enlisted in April 2008, also serving in the SF career field.
