  • AF offers new 2-year degree program for civilians

    The Air Force is expanding development opportunities for the civilian workforce by offering an associate degree at little to no cost. Graduates of the online program will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science in Air Force leadership and management studies. The 60-credit hour program is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

  • AF selects 818 officers for field grade promotions

    The Air Force has selected 818 active duty officers for promotion to colonel, lieutenant colonel and major during the 2016C Colonel Line of the Air Force, Line of the Air Force Judge Advocate, Nurse Corps and Chaplain; Lieutenant Colonel Chaplain, Nurse Corps and Line of the Air Force Judge Advocate; and 2016D Major Line of the Air Force Judge Advocate and Nurse Corps central selection boards.

  • Command opportunity found in financial management leadership program

    Active-duty officers in year groups 2004 to 2008 can apply for a special command opportunity through the 2017 Financial Management Leadership Program.
  • AF closes FY14 force management programs

    Airmen who met the service’s reduction in force board were notified of the board’s results Nov. 19, bringing the fiscal year 2014 force management programs to an end.
  • Services continue strong recruiting through September

    All four active services met or exceeded their numerical accession goals for fiscal year 2014 through September, and each service also exceeded Department of Defense quality benchmarks for new recruits, DOD officials announced Nov. 10.
  • Benefits claim process for voluntary separatees

    Records for all Airmen separated or retired under the fiscal year 2014 Voluntary Separation Pay program were updated Nov. 5 to reflect eligibility for transitional medical benefits.

    Air Force officials announced actions designed to set clear expectations, restore Airmen's time and refocus officer promotions on job performance. The Air Force has addressed long-standing perceptions that to be promoted, officers must complete an advanced academic degree, and those officers selected by a promotion board to attend developmental education in-residence, are expected to first complete that same level of developmental education by correspondence.
