    Vice President Mike Pence changed his plans amid the global COVID-19 pandemic to give the commencement address, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flew over and 967 new officers closed-out their four years at the school by hurling their caps into the air at the end of the ceremony.
  • Space Force welcomes first academy graduates to its ranks

    Vice President Mike Pence was in attendance at the event and congratulated the entire graduating class.
  • Air Force Academy prepares for historic graduation

    Vice President Mike Pence will deliver commencement remarks, following in the footsteps of prominent officials speaking at the service academy’s graduation. President Trump spoke last year.
  • Air Force Academy class of 2020 graduation date moved up

    The class is planning the event six weeks ahead of schedule, allowing them to celebrate together while ensuring their health and safety by adhering to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Department of Defense guidelines.

  • Pilot Training Next, Air Force ROTC partner for distance learning instruction

    For the first time ever, Air Force ROTC cadets with Detachment 536 at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, received real-time instruction remotely from a fully qualified Air Force instructor pilot sitting an airport in Louisiana.
  • Moving beyond a mistake: Academy cadet mentors troubled teens

    Over the winter break, the U.S. Air Force Academy cadet spent time mentoring middle and high schoolers at the Fort Bend Juvenile Facility in Richmond, Texas. The facility houses juveniles awaiting court appearances for a wide range of illegal behavior from theft to assault.

    A junior cadet at the Air Force Academy took to the stage Oct. 18 during Falcon Tank, an innovation-themed competition, to present an idea on modifying commercially available technology to correct color blindness in Air Force-issued pilot visors.
