  • Air Force delays mandatory wear-date for OCP items, 2PFDU

    Several uniform changes scheduled to become mandatory for the Operational Camouflage Pattern and Two-Piece Flight Duty Uniform (2PFDU) on June 1, have been delayed to Sept. 1.
  • Air Force update for COVID-19

    In an effort to minimize the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 and to prioritize the health and safety of Department of the Air Force personnel, the following modifications have been made:
  • Tyndall AFB renames school house: Gen. Lori Robinson Hall

    With half the buildings on base destroyed and the rest damaged, the service members assigned to Tyndall AFB have worked tirelessly to get the base up and running at full capacity. Among the damage was the air battle manager’s school house, building 1285. Now that the school house has been rebuilt, it was renamed “General Lori Robinson Hall,” on May 26, dedicated to one of their own: retired Gen. Lori Robinson.
  • Hurricane Hunters participate in online National Tropical Weather Conference

    The event is a national forum where experts in tropical meteorology inform media and business members about hurricane preparedness so they can better prepare their communities for when a hurricane threatens, said Alex Garcia, NTWC director and the Storm Science Network’s president and chief executive officer.
  • AFCEC consolidates program to maximize lethality, readiness

    The Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration program uses agreements with eligible entities, like cities and land trusts, to cost share mutually beneficial land easements within priority impact areas.
  • Feasibility of secondary Air Force BMT location proven; COVID-19 surge operations to begin June 2

    The decision to stand up BMT's initial operating capability, or IOC, at Keesler AFB under Detachment 5 of the 37th Training Wing at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas comes after a successful proof-of-concept trial run at the base, which began April 7.

  • AFLCMC maintenance team airlifts to repair F-16s during COVID-19 pandemic

    To prevent a standard 14-day mandatory quarantine required by personnel traveling through commercial airports, the AFLCMC depot field team located at Hill AFB, Utah, were flown directly to Holloman AFB on a C-130 Hercules the week of April 27 to fix three F-16 Fighting Falcons in a weeks’ time and keep the 49th Wing mission ready.
