    Air Force’s Spectrum Management Office joins the Cyberspace Operations and Warfighter Communications Directorate assigned to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Cyber Effects Operations. This is a vital move in a larger plan to support, from a Headquarters Air Force perspective, the synchronization of Information Warfare functions.
  • AFCEC awarded patent for new runway repair technology

    The formula for the repair solution, developed by members of Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s laboratory at Tyndall Air Force Base, will allow Rapid Airfield Damage Repair, or RADR, teams to quickly repair runways using materials that can be gathered locally, such as sand and clay.

  • AFCEC begins rollout of high-tech EOD robots to installations

    Over the next 16-18 months, AFCEC will deliver 333 high-tech robots to every EOD flight Air Force-wide, said Master Sgt. Justin Frewin, AFCEC EOD equipment program manager. Each active-duty, Guard and Reserve flight will receive 3-5 robots.
  • Travis AFB hosts clinical research for NASA’s newly developed medical technology

    The E-Nose Breathanalyzer, under development at NASA’s Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley, will have the capability of analyzing compounds found within a person’s breath to diagnose a battery of illnesses and abnormalities including respiratory illnesses, infectious diseases and cardiovascular conditions.

  • Department of the Air Force to conduct focus groups on interpersonal violence

  • Joint training strengthens air defense capability

    The U.S. Air Force 726th Air Control Squadron (ACS), from Mountain Home AFB, and U.S. Army 31st Air Defense Artillery Brigade, or ADA BDE, from Fort Sill, Oklahoma, are integrating their radar, communication networks and defense systems to increase readiness and joint operation efficiency.

    One of the largest owners of data, the Department of Defense, known for its steadfast protective oversight of this digital gold, embarked on a historical first this year: a first with the ability to improve the effectiveness, agility, affordability and speed of operations for a myriad of stakeholders.   • Orange Flag brings test data to warfighter

    Orange Flag is an exercise born from a need to maximize resources across air, land, sea, space and cyber domains to include joint and coalition forces. The exercise aims to bring test as close as possible to the warfighter through combat relevant testing early in the development cycle.
