7/20/2006 - SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- A deployed C-17 Globemaster III unit here is providing support to the American citizens who have left Lebanon.

Today, C-17s from the 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron were tasked to transport supplies to Akrotiri, Cyprus, in preparation for the flow of people.

Supplies include tents, Meals Ready to Eat and water. They have also delivered Navy construction personnel and equipment.

The 816th EAS, deployed in the Central Command theater for a 120-day rotation, has moved 252,000 pounds of relief equipment and humanitarian supplies and more than 200 personnel in support of the operation.
