2/14/2013 - JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- Several dozen lieutenants and captains have been selected for the undergraduate flying training program, Air Force Personnel Center officials said.

To see the list, go to http://www.afpc.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-130213-082.pdf.

The UFT annual selection board convened in January to consider active duty candidates for the program, and those selected will attend pilot, remotely piloted aircraft, combat systems officer or air battle manager training, said Howard Peterson, AFPC pipeline and trainer assignments.

Pilot training candidates will attend Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, or specialized undergrad pilot training at Columbus AFB, Miss., Vance AFB, Okla., and Laughlin AFB, Texas. RPA selectees will attend training at Randolph AFB, Texas. ABM candidates will attend training at Tyndall AFB, Fla., and CSO candidate training is at Pensacola Naval Air Station, Fla.

UFT selection is highly competitive, according to Peterson, who advises interested officers to plan ahead if they intend to apply in the fall.

"Maintaining peak combat capability begins and ends with talented, motivated Airmen who exhibit the mental and physical capacity to endure highly stressful environments and situations," Peterson said. "Officers selected for rated programs must epitomize the warrior ethos."
