5/3/2013 - TRANSIT CENTER AT MANAS, Kyrgyzstan (AFNS) -- An Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker crashed May 3 in northern Kyrgyzstan. Emergency response crews are on scene. The status of the crew is unknown.
The crew and aircraft are assigned to the Transit Center at Manas near Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

5/6/2013 2:34:28 AM ET Sad hearing this. And finding out tonight that the boom operator was a fellow high school classmate from Bakersfield High School in Bakersfield CA. I always remembered him as a goofy..funny fuy . I hope he kept that with him throughout his career in the Air Force and kept his crew and his squadron joyful and laughing at his jokes and pranks. You will be missed Herman.
