Brig. Gen. Mark E. Stearns is Commander, 15th Expeditionary Mobility Task Force, Travis Air Force Base, Calif., and the designated Director of Mobility Forces for Korea. He is responsible for the 615th Contingency Response Wing and the 515th Air Mobility Operations Wing with operations at 23 locations throughout the United States, the Pacific and Asia. The task force supports rapid global mobility through the Pacific en route structure and provides deployable contingency response groups along with scalable forces to support mobility operations anywhere in the world. The 15th Expeditionary Mobility Task Force also provides focused mobility capabilities for U.S. Pacific Command, U.S. Northern Command and U.S. Southern Command regions.

General Stearns entered the Air Force after graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1979. He is a command pilot with more than 4,800 hours of flying time in the C-141, KC-10, and C-130 aircraft, and in the UH-1 helicopter. The general has served in staff assignments at Headquarters U.S. Air Force, U.S. Transportation Command, USSOUTHCOM and the Joint Staff.
