JOSEPH G. DIAMOND

Joseph G. Diamond, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Director of Small Business Programs of the Department of the Air Force, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. He is responsible for the leadership, management and oversight of the Small and Minority Business Program, the Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Minority Institution Programs for the Department of the Air Force.

Mr. Diamond entered government service with the Air Force in 1985 and has held numerous acquisition leadership positions. He served as Program Manager for the Survival Avionics and Combat Edge System programs, Program Manager for the F-16 Close Air Support aircraft, Deputy Director of Development and Integration with the F-16 System Program Office, and Deputy System Program Director for Special Operations Forces Programs. He was the Associate Director of Acquisition Career Management and Chief of the Acquisition and Resources Division with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force.

Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Diamond was the Air Force Program Executive Officer for Weapons. Mr. Diamond retired in the rank of chief master sergeant after 23 years active duty. He was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in November 1998. He also serves on the Air Force Executive Resource Board Development Panel, chairs the Acquisition Program Management Policy Council and is a panel chair for the Air Force Board for Correction of Military Records.
