BRIGADIER GENERAL EDWARD L. MAHAN JR.

Brig. Gen. Edward L. Mahan Jr. is Deputy for Acquisition, Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. He is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and execution of more than 120 programs in the command and control and combat support portfolio, including the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System, the Airborne Warning and Control System, the Multi-Sensor Command and Control Aircraft program, and Combined Aerospace Operations Centers.

General Mahan was commissioned a second lieutenant after completing Officer Training School in 1975. His assignments include squadron and group commander, Director of the Integrated Command and Control Systems Program Office at Hanscom AFB, Mass., and Vice Commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Center at Hill AFB, Utah.

Prior to his current assignment, General Mahan was the Mission Area Director for Information Dominance, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. He was responsible for planning and programming 68 Air Force, joint service and international programs.
