ALLEN W. BECKETT

Allen W. Beckett, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Deputy Director of Maintenance, Deputy Chief of Staff for for Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington D.C. Mr. Beckett develops maintenance policy to ensure readiness of the single largest element of manpower supporting Air Force combat forces worldwide. He helps determine and defend an annual budget of $20 billion to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Office of Management and Budget, and Congress.

Mr. Beckett began his career in 1973 at Kelly Air Force Base, Texas, where he managed appropriated funding for the directorate of materiel management. He has served in major command and headquarters-level positions and has extensive experience in resource allocation, budget, information systems and materiel management policy development.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Beckett served as the Principal Assistant Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C. In that position, he had broad responsibility in the overall policy and management for the Department of Defense logistics system. Mr. Beckett was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in 1996.
