JOE G. LINEBERGER

Joe G. Lineberger, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Director of the Air Force Review Boards Agency, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Washington, D.C. He is responsible for the management and operations of the Air Force Personnel Council, Air Force Board for Correction of Military Records and Air Force Civilian Appellate Review Office.

In 1953 Mr. Lineberger entered the Air Force as a second lieutenant through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program. His overseas assignments included Thule Air Base, Greenland; Pepperell AB, Newfoundland; exchange duty with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Ottawa; and Headquarters Military Assistance Command, South Vietnam. He served in a series of stateside assignments, including Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C., and in the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force. He was the military assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower, Reserve Affairs and Installations under five assistant secretaries.

Mr. Lineberger retired from military service in August 1980 as a colonel and assumed his current position Sept. 1, 1980.
