Brigadier General Patricia A. Hinneburg is deputy chief of staff for logistics, Headquarters Air Force Logistics Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. In this capacity, she develops and directs policy and procedures for conducting maintenance, supply, transportation and munitions operations in support of the command's air logistics centers, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C., and worldwide customers.

General Hinneburg was born in 1937, in Camden, N.J., and graduated from Upper Darby (Pa.) Senior High School in 1955. She earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Temple University in 1959, a master's degree in education from the University of Southern California in 1969 and a master's degree in logistics management through the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright Patterson in 1975. The general completed Squadron Officer School in 1971, Air War College in 1978, Armed Forces Staff College in 1979 and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in 1985. She also was awarded the basic professional designation in logistics management by the Society of Logistics Engineers in 1974.

She was a distinguished graduate of Officer Training School and entered the Air Force in November 1964. She was first assigned to the 62nd Military Airlift Wing, McChord Air Force Base, Wash., where she held several jobs in maintenance and logistics. She was nominated by the Women in the Air Force director's office and selected for the Outstanding Young Women of America award in 1966.

In January 1968 she moved to Cigli Air Base, Turkey, as chief of wing logistics for TUSLOG, Detachment 116. She next was assigned to Lowry Air Force Base, Colo., as a logistics instructor in July 1969.

General Hinneburg returned to the 62nd Military Airlift Wing in August 1970 as chief of logistics. In October 1972 she was assigned to Air Force Logistics Command headquarters where she was the major command maintenance requirements monitor.

In September 1975 the general transferred to the Directorate of Plans and Programs, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C., as chief of the Plans Branch, and subsequently as the executive officer to the director of plans and programs. In January 1979 General Hinneburg was assigned to the 56th Tactical Fighter Wing, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., and served successively as chief of the Maintenance Training Division, 56th Aircraft Generation Squadron maintenance supervisor, and, later, as 56th Equipment Maintenance Squadron supervisor.

She then reported to Kunsan Air Base, South Korea, as commander of the Aircraft Generation Squadron, 8th Tactical Fighter Wing. Upon returning to the United States in June 1982 she became assistant deputy commander for maintenance, 388th Tactical Fighter Wing, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. In July 1985 she was assigned to Robins Air Force Base, Ga., as chief of the Vehicle Management Division, Directorate of Materiel Management. In January 1987 she became chief of the Resources Management Division in the same directorate.

She then was assigned as director of maintenance, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins Air Force Base, in July 1987. In June 1989 General Hinneburg became deputy chief of staff for maintenance, AFLC headquarters. The title of the position was changed in April 1991 due to a major reorganization of the command's headquarters.

The general's military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Ribbon-Short, Air Force Overseas Ribbon-Long, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with five oak leaf clusters, and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.

She was promoted to brigadier general April 1, 1990, with same date of rank.
