BRIGADIER GENERAL A. PAUL BRUNO

Brigadier General A. Paul Bruno is commander of the International Logistics Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

General Bruno was born in 1929 in Verona, Pa. He graduated from Memphis (Tenn.) State University in 1954 and received his commission through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program as a distinguished graduate. He completed Squadron Officer School in 1965 and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, D.C., in 1974.

After receiving his commission in 1954, the general served with the Air Force Reserve Program at New Castle County Air Base, Wilmington, Del. In 1958 General Bruno was assigned as a materiel facilities officer at Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany. Upon his return to the United States in 1961, he was the base equipment management officer for the 57th Air Division at Westover Air Force Base, Mass.

He was assigned to Headquarters Strategic Air Command at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., as a staff supply officer from March 1965 until June 1966, when he become deputy chief of supply for the 72nd Bombardment Wing, Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico. General Bruno served as a materiel control officer in the 4258th Strategic Wing at U-Tapao Royal Thai Naval Airfield, Thailand, from April 1969 to May 1970. He then became senior supply coordinator, Allied Forces South in Naples, Italy, until August 1973.

After graduation from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in July 1974, he was assigned to the Sacramento Air Logistics Center, McClellan Air Force Base, Calif., as assistant F-111 system manager until December 1974. He was then appointed chief, Electronic Power Division, where he served until July 1976. At that time he became chief of the Item Management Division and served in that capacity until October 1976. The general was then assigned to the multinational F-16 program as deputy program manager for logistics, Air Force Acquisition Logistics Division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. In January 1980 he become vice commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Center of Hill Air Force Base, Utah. He assumed his present command in July 1981.

General Bruno's military decorations and awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters.

He was promoted to brigadier general Sept. 1, 1980, with date of rank Aug. 9, 1980.
