MAJOR GENERAL FRANK J. CASSERINO

Maj. Gen. Frank J. Casserino is the mobilization assistant to the Commander, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. 

General Casserino entered the Air Force in 1977 as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. From his first assignment at Sunnyvale Air Force Station, Calif., his career has been marked with opportunities to start new engineering and space programs, to include his selection as the prime payload specialist for a space shuttle flight in September 1986. In 1993, he was selected to begin the space unit program for Air Force Reserve Command. That effort has grown to two groups and a reserve space wing.

As a civilian, he works for the Aerospace Corporation as a space engineer/consultant for Air Force Space Command. General Casserino is qualified to wear the Command Space Badge and the Parachute Badge.
