MAJOR GENERAL DAVID L. FROSTMAN

Maj. Gen. David L. Frostman is the mobilization assistant to the Commander, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. General Frostman is responsible for advising the commander on employment of Total Force capabilities to support the mission of the command. In addition, he provides specialized technical and management advice to the commander and senior staff. General Frostman is also the major command lead for Air Force Smart Operations 21 implementation.

General Frostman was commissioned in 1971 as a graduate of  the U.S. Air Force Academy. After pilot training, he served as a KC-135 aircraft commander. His career also includes assignments at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory, where he helped develop the first prototype airborne high-energy laser weapon system; and at the U.S. Air Force Academy as a Department of Astronautics and Computer Science instructor and CT-39 instructor pilot.

In 1982, General Frostman transferred to the Air Force Reserve. While assigned to the Air Force Weapons Laboratory, he helped initiate the space software engineering division and served as a senior individual mobilization augmentee in the Space and Missiles Technology Directorate. He also served at Air Force Space Command as the individual mobilization augmentee to the Director of Plans and Programs and as mobilization assistant to the Director of Operations. As mobilization assistant to the Commander, 14th Air Force, he helped lead the integration of space capabilities into joint warfighting. As mobilization assistant to the Commander, Space and Missile Systems Center, he led the Center's efforts to improve strategic planning and implement lean acquisition processes.

As a civilian, he is currently a vice president at an engineering services company. He is also an adjunct professor of graduate studies at the University of Denver, specializing in organizational change leadership.
