BRIGADIER GENERAL CHRISTINE M. TURNER

Brig. Gen. Christine M. Turner is the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff, Defense Planning, Allied Command Transformation, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, Mons, Belgium. General Turner is responsible for the comprehensive planning framework to enable development of mission-effective and interoperable military forces and capabilities for NATO. In addition, she serves as the Director of Staff Element Europe, ACT's forward element; is the representative for the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SHAPE); and oversees close liaison with Joint Forces Command to facilitate U.S.-NATO interaction.

General Turner was born in Portland, Ore. She was commissioned in 1979 after completing Officer Training School. She has worked in contingency operations and staff positions at Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense, 9th Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, Air Force Space Command, Air Force Systems Command, Pacific Air Command, Air Mobility Command, the Air Force Audit Agency and the Defense Finance and Accounting Service.

The general served in support of operations Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, Restore Hope, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Sharp Edge and Just Cause. She deployed to Saudi Arabia and other Southwest Asia locations in support of operations Southern Watch, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
