BRIGADIER GENERAL JOHN H. GRUESER Brig. Gen. John H. Grueser is the mobilization assistant to the Deputy Chief of the Air Force Reserve, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. Prior to assuming his current position, he served as Vice Commander of Headquarters 4th Air Force, March Air Reserve Base, Calif. Fourth Air Force has command supervision of Air Force Reserve airlift and air refueling resources located throughout the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam. The general was responsible for assisting the commander, ensuring the combat readiness of 13 flying wings, one flying group, and two regional support groups comprised of strategic airlift, air refueling, airdrop, aeromedical, Special Mission Deep Freeze, and associated support unit activities. Fourth Air Force encompasses 300 units nationwide with more than 24,200 personnel.
