MAJOR GENERAL ROBERT E. PFISTER Maj. Gen. Robert E. Pfister is mobilization assistant to the Commander, 8th Air Force, Barksdale Air Force Base, La. The 'Mighty 8th' is responsible for overseeing the wartime operations capability of Air Combat Command's active, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve A-10, B-1, B-2, B-52, F-15 and F-16 units in the central United States. General Pfister entered the Air Force through Officer Training School at Lackland AFB, Texas, in March 1964, and completed pilot training at Craig AFB, Ala., in May 1965. He then flew KC-135s with the 919th Air Refueling Squadron, including 16 months in Southeast Asia. As a Reserve officer, he has served in the unit program as well as individual mobilization augmentee at three numbered air forces, two major commands and the Air Staff level. His command experience includes Strategic Air Command's Desert Shield and Desert Storm battle staff. His joint experience includes U.S. Atlantic Command and Strategic Command's "Looking Glass" battle staff. In his civilian occupation, he is a captain with a major airline.
