MAJOR GENERAL JONATHAN T. TREACY

Major General Jonathan T. Treacy is Commander, Joint Task Force Civil Support, U.S. Northern Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. Joint Task Force and Civil Support is U.S. Northern Command's standing operational joint task force headquarters comprised of over 200 military and civilian personnel responsible for planning, anticipating and conducting immediate and decisive chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear consequence management response operations in support of civil authorities. When directed, Joint Task Force - Civil Support commands more than 5,400 DoD personnel, providing critical life-saving and life sustaining capabilities, as well as fostering community recovery.

General Treacy was commissioned in 1980 as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps, through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York. After initial assignment as an advanced jet flight instructor, he joined Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 323, where in 1986 he participated in combat operations off the coast of Libya, Operation Eldorado Canyon. In 1988 General Treacy joined the 102nd Fighter Interceptor Wing, Otis Air National Guard Base, Massachusetts Air National Guard, where he held numerous positions including command of the 102nd Operations Support Flight, the 101st Fighter Squadron and the 101st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron. There he led the squadron through two combat deployments to Southwest Asia, operations Northern Watch and Southern Watch, as well as the initial air defense force response to the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Prior to his current assignment, General Treacy served as the Director Air National Guard Forces, Air Combat Command, the Assistant Adjutant General, Hawaii Air National Guard, and most recently as the Deputy Director for Antiterrorism and Homeland Defense, J-34, the Joint Staff. He is a command pilot with 189 arrested landings and more than 3,300 flying hours, primarily in the F/A-18 and F-15.
