Lt. Gen. John D. Bansemer is the Assistant Director of National Intelligence for Partner Engagement at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. In his present capacity, he serves as Director of National Intelligence lead for integration, coordination and collaboration with the intelligence community’s domestic, international, military, and private sector partners. In this role his duties include the optimization of intelligence community engagement with foreign partners and ensuring the fullest utilization of U.S. national intelligence capabilities in support of military operations.
General Bansemer entered the Air Force in 1987 as a distinguished graduate of Officer Training School at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. His career has included a variety of operational intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance duties. He has commanded at the detachment, squadron, group and wing levels. He has served on the National Security Council staff where he provided advice and expertise on a range of national security issues. He has also served on the Air Staff. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Deputy Chief, Central Security Service of the National Security Agency and was the Director of Intelligence for U.S. European Command.
