BRIGADIER GENERAL STEPHEN "FRITZ" LINSENMEYER

Brig. Gen. Stephen J. “Fritz” Linsenmeyer is the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, 5th Air Force, Yokota Air Base, Japan. Fifth Air Force conducts joint and bilateral planning and engagements to defend Japan and respond to regional contingencies. In addition, the command coordinates joint and bilateral actions and exercises with U.S. Forces Japan, U.S. service components, the Japan Self Defense Forces and other Japanese organizations to strengthen bilateral interoperability. Fifth Air Force exercises administrative authority over U.S. Air Force forces in Japan.

General Linsenmeyer attended John Carroll University in Ohio and was commissioned in 1981 through Officer Training School. He served in a variety of flying assignments, including as a pilot in the B-52, KC-10, KC-135, and C-130 aircraft. He has commanded at the flight, squadron, group, and wing levels, as well as at a support unit with a major command headquarters. General Linsenmeyer has also served as a Numbered Air Force Vice Commander. During his career, he flew combat missions in support of Operations Desert Storm, Northern Watch, Allied Force, and Enduring Freedom. Prior to his current assignment, the general was the Interim Director of Intelligence, Operations and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas
.

General Linsenmeyer is a command pilot with more than 4,200 military flight hours including his combat and combat support hours.
