BRIGADIER GENERAL MICHAEL A. GREINER

Brig. Gen. Michael Greiner is the Director, Budget Operations and Personnel, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Budget, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. Brig. Gen. Greiner is responsible for planning and directing execution of the Air Force’s operations and maintenance as well as military personnel budget totaling more than $79 billion annually. He leads a team of military and civilian budget professionals who develop, integrate and justify readiness and personnel budgets for the Air Force and defend Air Force budget requirements as they are addressed by the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Office of Management and Budget and Congress.

Brig. Gen. Greiner received his commission from the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Portland as a distinguished graduate. He is also a distinguished graduate of the Air Force Institute of Technology. He has served in operations: Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Unified Response and Freedom’s Sentinel.

Prior to his current assignment, Brig. Gen. Greiner served as the Director for Cost Analysis and Policy Integration, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Cost and Economics.
