Brigadier General GEORGE T.M. DIETRICH III

Brig. Gen. George “Dutch” Dietrich III is the Director of Logistics, United States Africa Command, United States Army Garrison-Stuttgart, Kelley Barracks, Germany. He is responsible for a team of 50 military and civilian personnel in the administration and execution of logistics throughout 53 countries in the Africa area of responsibility, with additional focuses on engineering support and strategic engagement.

Brig. Gen. Dietrich was commissioned from Officer Training School in 1995 and entered active duty as a transportation officer. He commanded the 60th Mission Support Group at Travis Air Force Base, California and the 673rd Air Base Wing at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He has served Air Staff tours as a resource programmer in the Logistics Directorate and in the Air Force Engine Room and has had multiple special operations assignments in Air Force Special Operations Command and as the Director of Logistics for Joint Special Operations Command. He also served as the Director of Logistics for USAFE-AFAFRICA.

Prior to his current assignment, the General was the 82nd Training Wing and Installation Commander, Sheppard AFB, Texas.
