MICHAEL T. BREWER

Mr. Michael T. Brewer, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Director of Test and Evaluation, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Arlington, Virginia. He is responsible for policy, resources and oversight of developmental and operational testing, and is the service lead for the Air Force Foreign Materiel Program. He oversees a $4 billion Air Force test infrastructure and the programming and execution of the Air Force test portfolio, with an annual budget of $1.9 billion.

Mr. Brewer received his commission in 1986 from North Carolina State University. He attended pilot training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, with follow-on operational assignments in the F-111F and F-15E at RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom, where he served as an Instructor and Evaluator Pilot. In 1996, Mr. Brewer completed U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School. Following TPS, he was assigned to the 445th Flight Test Squadron as an F-15 Experimental Test Pilot and he served in the F/A-22 system program office as a Test Program Manager. Mr. Brewer commanded an experimental test squadron and then served as Assistant for Global Positioning System and Navigation Warfare, Networks and Information Integration, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, and commanded the 46th Test Wing, Arnold Engineering Development Center and the 412th Test Wing.

During his career, he has commanded at the squadron, group, wing and major command level. Mr. Brewer retired from the Air Force at the rank of major general in 2020 after 33 years of active duty. He was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in 2020. Prior to his assignment as Director of AF/TE, he was Director of Transportation Security Agency, Test and Evaluation.
