Brig. Gen. Jeffrey T. “Opie” Schreiner is the Director of Global Operations, Headquarters U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. As Director, he serves as the Principal Advisor to the USSTRATCOM Commander on nuclear operations and is responsible for the day-to-day readiness of U.S. nuclear command and control and strategic deterrent forces. He is also responsible for synchronizing component, joint, and coalition operations and directing assigned forces to achieve USSTRATCOM and national objectives.
Brig. Gen. Schreiner earned his commission from the Air Force Academy in 1996. He has served in multiple operational, training, and staff assignments and logged more than 4,000 hours in the B-2A. B-52H, T-38A and T- 52A aircraft. His notable educational and staff assignments include the U.S. Air Force Weapons School Instructor, a fellowship at the Stimson Center, Washington, D.C., serving as the Chief of Staff for Operation Inherent Resolve. He was vice commander of the 379th Expeditionary Wing and commanded the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman AFB, Missouri, home to the world’s only stealth bomber wing.
