JEREMY P. ZADEL

Jeremy P. Zadel, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Deputy Director of the Plans, Programs and Requirements Directorate, Headquarters Air Combat Command (ACC A5/8/9), Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. He is responsible for planning and programming over $60B annually for a force of more than 146,000 personnel and 2,800 aircraft, supporting 10 unified commands and United States North American Air Defense. He leads operational requirements functions for Combat Air Force weapon system acquisition, modernization, sustainment and test for over 140 programs. He also serves as senior acquisition and operational advisor for CAF fighter, munitions, command and control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, cyberspace, joint personnel recovery, weather, test and training, combat support, airborne networking, and tactical edge communications programs. He assists in directing a staff of 25 divisions with more than 700 personnel and guides multiple ACC-sponsored innovation, experimentation, and advanced technology initiatives, teaming with Air Force Research Laboratory, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and other government and industry partners.

Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Zadel served as Deputy Director of the Combat Air Force Special Access Program Management Office and Advanced Programs. He was responsible for assuring the security of CAF SAPs as well as oversight of development and integration of emerging technologies into CAF aircraft and weapons systems, including all current and future air-to-air and air-to-ground ordnance. As a colonel he served as Chief, ACC A5/8/9 Advanced Combat Concepts Division directing acquisition, modernization, integration, sustainment, operational testing, and fielding for several major classified programs.

Mr. Zadel was commissioned in the Air Force through ROTC in 1996 after graduating from Michigan State University. He held various flying, staff assignments, and command assignments. He retired from the Air Force in 2020 and worked in the defense industry before returning to the Department of the Air Force.
