Major General BRYONY A. TERRELL

Maj. Gen. Bryony A. Terrell is the Special Assistant to the Director, Air National Guard at the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. In this capacity, she assists the Director in formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, plans and programs affecting 108,400 Air National Guard Airmen and civilians across 90 wings and 180 installations in 159 communities throughout the 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and Virgin Islands.

Maj. Gen. Terrell received her commission in 1998 through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program after graduating from Ohio University. She has experience in the Regular Air Force and Air National Guard as a support officer, maintenance officer and operational pilot. She has supported multiple contingencies, exercises and special flying missions, including operations Southern Watch, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, while logging more than 1,100 hours in the C-5A and C-17A aircraft. Maj. Gen. Terrell’s notable staff assignments include Functional Area Manager for Tanker and Strategic Airlift and Chief of Rated Management and Personnel Policy at the National Guard Bureau.

Following her assignments at NGB, Maj. Gen. Terrell was selected as the Commander, 145th Airlift Wing, Charlotte Air National Guard Base, North Carolina, where she was responsible for the execution of C-17 strategic airlift missions, management of a budget in excess of $150 million, along with the organization, training and equipping of over 1,500 personnel. Prior to her current assignment, she served as the U.S. European Command Deputy Director for Global Partnering, Security Cooperation, Arctic and Space Coordination responsible for Theater Security Cooperation of a warfighting headquarters that conducts a full range of multi-domain operations in coordination with allies and partners to support the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
