BRIGADIER GENERAL WALTER J. LINDSLEY

Brig. Gen. Walter J. Lindsley is the Director of Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. As director, he leads more than 270 professionals across eight divisions and is responsible for integrating strategy, policy, resources, performance management and human capital development for AFGSC’s maintenance, munitions, supply, transportation, civil engineering and force protection functions in support of 18,500 professionals. The AFGSC A4 is responsible for integration, advocacy, and oversight of the nation's largest nuclear weapon storage facility, its Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles, B-1, B-2 and B-52 bombers, while also performing lead command functions for the Air Force's UH-1N helicopter fleet, the E-4B National Airborne Operations Center aircraft and the NC3 system. General Lindsley provides combatant commanders with combat ready forces and equipment to conduct the strategic nuclear deterrence and global strike operations.

Brig. Gen. Lindsley entered the Air Force in 1982 and received his commission in 1989 after completing Air Force Officer Training School. He is a certified Black Belt and a Level III logistics acquisition professional. He has held a wide breadth of assignments in the aircraft, munitions and logistics at the squadron, group, wing, field operating unit, center, major command and Air Staff levels to include multiple contingency operations.

Prior to his current position, he was the Director of Logistics, Headquarters Air Force.
