Maj. Gen. John A. Hickok is the Mobilization Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Arlington, Virginia. He supports the Deputy Chief of Staff in leadership, management and integration of Air Force logistics readiness, aircraft and missile maintenance, civil engineering and security forces, as well as setting policy and preparing budget estimates that reflect enhancements to productivity, combat readiness and quality of life for Air Force members.
General Hickok graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1988. He has served on active duty, in the Air National Guard and in the Air Force Reserve in a variety of positions at Headquarters U.S. Air Force, major commands, numbered Air Forces, joint staffs, the air logistics complex and wing levels. He has served twice as a commander and served three times as a division chief in the Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command and Joint Staff Logistics Directorates. Prior to his current position, General Hickok served as the Deputy Director of Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters AFRC, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. He was responsible for policy, budget and oversight for training and equipping 33,000 personnel in aircraft maintenance, logistics, supply, aerial port, transportation, munitions, civil engineering and security forces. He supported a command fleet of more than 350 aircraft, oversaw installation assets at nine primary and 61 tenant locations with a $6.7 billion average plant replacement value and a $2.2 billion annual operating budget.
