BRIGADIER GENERAL DENNIS T. BEATTY

Brig. Gen.  Dennis T. Beatty is the Mobilization Assistant to the Director of Operations, Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Florida. As Mobilization Assistant to the Director, General Beatty advises on the implementation and direction of operational command policy for AFSOC’s worldwide special operations units including 16,000 personnel, 212 aircraft and $14.4 billion of assets.

General Beatty was commissioned through Air Force ROTC at the University of Pittsburgh. As an AC-130H Navigator, he was awarded the William H. Tunner Award in 1989 as part of Military Airlift Command's Outstanding Aircrew of the Year for their actions during Operation Just Cause in Panama. General Beatty joined the Air Force Reserve in 2000, flying the C-130H2 with the 95th Airlift Squadron at General Mitchell IAP, Milwaukee, Wisconson, and Pope Air Force Base, N.C. He commanded the 746th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron while deployed in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. General Beatty has also deployed in support of operations Just Cause, Desert Shield, Provide Comfort, and Northern Watch.

During the past 30 years, he has served in various leadership positions at all levels.  Prior to this assignment, he was the Mobilization Assistant to the Director, Plans, Programs, Requirements and Assessments, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas.
