Lieutenant General LINDA S. HURRY

Lt. Gen. Linda S. Hurry is Deputy Commander, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The command employs 89,000 people and manages $72 billion of budget authority annually. She oversees activities across multiple centers, responsible for installation and mission support, discovery and development, test and evaluation, life cycle management services and sustainment of virtually every major Air Force weapon system, to include the entire scope of nuclear weapons sustainment.

As Deputy Commander, Lt. Gen. Hurry is responsible for the evolution of aerospace systems from conceptual phase through production and introduction into the operating inventory. Her duties include directing policy and procedures affecting AFMC aircraft logistics, product acquisition and sustainment, technology research and development, as well as system test and evaluation to meet known and anticipated operational requirements. She also manages worldwide logistics support to U.S. Air Force operating commands, as well as foreign, Security Assistance Program air forces. Finally, she supports the commander by ensuring Air Force guidance for installation and mission support around the world.

Lt. Gen. Hurry graduated from the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-law and Legal Studies. Prior to her current assignment, she served as the Director of Logistics, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia.
