Mentoring is a relationship in which knowledge and skills are shared between members in a way in which everyone benefits. Often a more senior person is mentoring a junior person, but mentorship can happen between any two individuals. Mentoring will help Airmen and Guardians discover their strengths by achieving their full potential through a structured, trusting mentoring relationship.

 

 

GET INVOLVED

Find a mentor and become a mentor!  It’s easy to do both by registering in MyVector.  In 2021, we completely redesigned the Mentoring platform in MyVector based on your feedback. New features include:

  • Ability to self-identify as someone seeking a mentor or someone who wants to be a mentor
  • Track the status of their mentoring requests
  • Updated Resources page
  • Enhanced messaging capability that allows users to send messages to mentors
  • Additional search filters:
  • ethnicity, race, disability, Exceptional Family Members Program (EFMP), MAJCOM, organizations, and ranks
  • Ability for mentees to share documents with mentor
  • Sister Service mentor/mentee enabled capability
  • CFM ability to assign mentors to mentees (Spring 2022)

AGANA HEIGHTS, Guam (Jun. 15, 2023) Sailors from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1 assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 75 assist local Guam residents with roofing repair and construction after local resident's houses sustained major damage in the aftermath of Typhoon Mawar.

This initiative known as the Roofing Installation Support Emergency Utilization Program, or RISEUP, was launched to help temporarily repair metal roofs damaged by Typhoon Mawar and is in coordination with Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense, FEMA, and the Mayor’s Council of Guam.

A Combined Joint Task Force led by U.S. Army Pacific and Task Force West are the DoD representatives supporting FEMA and the governments of Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands as we continue recovery efforts in the wake of Typhoon Mawar. Commander Task Force West Rear Adm. Benjamin Nicholson, and all military installation commanding officers in Guam are diligently working to restore steady state to the bases and dedicate resources to all FEMA mission assignments. Typhoon Mawar moved through the area as a Category 4 storm on May 24, bringing hurricane-force winds, heavy rain and high seas marking the strongest storm to affect the island since Typhoon Pongsona in 2002.

In observance of National Mentoring Month, we have a goal of increasing Airman and Guardian mentoring profiles and pairs by 20%. The winning installation will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual mentoring session.
