ABOUT THIS PAGE

The Department of the Air Force (DAF) values coaching as an enterprise imperative for transformative development across the Total Force. The DAF’s coaching program aligns with the National Security Strategy's emphasis on investing in our people, the national Defense Strategy focus on building a resilient joint force, and SECAF's priority to ensure force readiness. By fostering personal and professional growth, our coaching program enhances the capabilities of Airmen and Guardians, ensuring a strong, agile, and resilient force, equipped to face pacing threats. The DAF is dedicated to empowering the Total Force with a variety of coaching options, designed to suit all ranks and grades.

What is Coaching?

Formal Coaching is a structured partnership between a trained and certified coach and a client where the coach leverages intentional conversations and thought-provoking questions to support individuals in achieving their goals, self-discovery, and unlocking their potential.

Applying “Coaching Skills” is the informal application of coaching techniques used to challenge thinking and improve a individual’s growth and development.
