Joint-service, civilian ECMO team
A civilian patient being moved onto a Gulfstream III jet on the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation stretcher that her joint-service and civilian medical team constructed from scratch in November 2010. This, the longest adult ECMO transport ever recorded, took approximately 12 hours from the patient's Hawaii hospital bed to her Iowa hospital bed. (Courtesy photo)
